TRAUMA THERAPIST IN NOTTINGHAM

Healing your past - Transforming your future

Therapy in Nottingham

Hello, thanks for visiting my website.

I am a Trauma-Informed Psychotherapist based in Nottingham and online. I work with adult children of emotionally immature or narcissistic parents, supporting clients with difficult family dynamics and emotionally and psychologically abusive relationships.

If you have experienced relational manipulation, gaslighting, or co-dependency, the emotional wound runs deep. Dealing with narcissistic parents can be incredibly difficult and draining.

If you have experienced growing up with emotionally unavailable or narcissistic parents then trauma therapy for narcissistic abuse recovery will focus on helping you to process the feelings associated with these relationships and looking at ways to support you to establish strong boundaries, take control and rediscover your personal identity and a sense of self-compassion and self-worth.

Dealing with narcissistic parents can be difficult but through counselling and psychotherapy you can feel empowered to change your life.

Here, you will feel seen, heard and understood. Its not your fault. You will be offered a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk and slowly begin to heal.

Common symptoms of narcissistic abuse or developmental trauma?

Anxiety/depression

CPTSD.

Feelings of guilt and shame

Perfectionism

People Pleasing

An Identity Crisis

Relationships/Trust

Lack of Mental Clarity

Self-loathing

Low self-esteem and confidence.

You may be feeling confused, powerless and exhausted right now. I have years of experience of working with people just like you. Change can happen.

I am here to support you with your recovery, or to manage the ongoing relationship with your narcissistic parent and to help you find the most effective way to continue the relationship, if you choose to do so.

About Narcissistic Abuse

Narcissistic abuse is psychological manipulation. Narcissistic behaviour aims to control and undermine the victim. Persistent gaslighting, belittling, and dominating behaviour wears you down, breaks down self-confidence and leaves you feeling confused and questioning your reality.

As an adult child of emotionally unavailable/narcissistic parents, you may have felt unseen and unheard, and maybe unsafe, growing up. Or there may just be a lack of nurturing, empathy and support. As an adult you may be struggling with those relationships and possibly other relationships in your life.

You may struggle to create or uphold boundaries and to be respected for the adult that you are.

Along with the mental health issues (emotional wellbeing), the impact of childhood trauma, emotional neglect, and adverse childhood experiences can also cause many physical health problems, such as chronic pain, heart disease, and IBS.

The benefits of therapy for narcissistic abuse recovery

Psychotherapy can be your guiding light in healing from narcissistic abuse. Research shows that the therapeutic relationship is the most important agent for change in therapy. I often hear clients complain that they feel alone and isolated as nobody would understand. that we shouldn't feel this way about our parents. I understand. I hear you.

Together we can explore your situation in a way that leads to fresh perspectives, new insights and self-awareness. Your confidence will grow and your relationship with yourself and others will improve exponentially.

Counselling isn’t about giving you solutions or advice, but empowering you to create change and understanding on a deeper level.

Take the first step in your healing journey today by seeking the support of a trauma-informed psychotherapist who specialises in narcissistic abuse recovery.

I look forward to supporting you in your healing.
