Hello, thanks for visiting my website.
Are you a professional, who on the outside is holding it all together but on the inside you feel like you are drowning?
Burnout isn't just a busy calendar - its the profound emotional exhaustion that come from a lifetime of "over-doing". Its the constant internal pressure to be perfect, the inability to say "no" without guilt, and the feeling that your value is entirely tied to your productivity.
If you were raised by a narcissistic or high-pressure family system, "doing" was likely your survival strategy.
You learned early on that to be safe was to be good, to be useful, and to be loved was to be perfect and not make mistakes.
Now, that survival strategy has become your biggest source of stress and overwhelm.
I help professionals heal the root of over-achievement linked to relational trauma
Supporting adult children of Narcissistic family dynamics
If you have experienced growing up with emotionally unavailable or narcissistic parents, then trauma therapy for narcissistic abuse recovery and emotional exhaustion will focus on helping you to process the feelings associated with these relationships and looking at ways to support you to establish strong boundaries, take control and rediscover your personal identity and a sense of self-compassion and self-worth.
Dealing with narcissistic parents can be difficult, but through counselling and psychotherapy, you can feel empowered to change your life.
I am a Trauma-Informed Psychotherapist based in Nottingham and online. I work with the "adult children of emotionally immature or narcissistic parents". These early developmental relationships shape who we become as adults and the emotional wounds experienced through misattuned parenting run deep. I want to support you to heal from difficult family dynamics, so you can become your true and authentic self. Therapy can help you to help these childhood emotional patterns so you can;
*Build confidence and a stronger sense of self
*Create healthier ways of relating to yourself and to others
*Banish self-doubt and feel safer and more emotionally secure
*Break free from guilt, people-pleasing, perfectionism and live more fully connected to yourself and your values
*Feel heard, validated and supported as you heal from these past wounds
I am here to support you with your recovery, or to manage the ongoing relationship with your narcissistic parent and to help you find the most effective way to continue the relationship, if you choose to do so.
Whether you are recovering from a narcissistic partner or grew up with a narcissistic or emotionally immature parent, you have probably spent years doubting your own mind.
The gaslighting, the guilt, the walking on eggshells: it was real, and it was not your fault.
I'm Sarah, an Integrative Psychotherapist and Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Coach working online and in Nottingham. My aim is to help people like you make sense of what happened, rebuild confidence, break free of old patterns of guilt and people-pleasing and learn to believe in yourself again.
Are you recovering from a narcissistic partner?
You may be asking yourself if it's really that bad, or if you are over-reacting. Perhaps you have left and are grieving the person you thought they were, and the life you should have had. Or you are thinking about leaving and questioning your reality, blaming and doubting yourself, and feeling exhausted and overwhelmed by it all.

If you grew up with a narcissistic or emotionally immature parent, you probably experienced emotional neglect. You learnt to keep the peace, put everyone else first, make yourself small, and never feel seen, heard, or good enough, Those patterns can be understood and changed. It is often as much about what didn't happen as what did.

I have been working as a therapist for 20+ years, initially in complementary therapies, then hypnotherapy, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), and other energy therapies. I have a passion and to know as much as I can about healing and human behaviour. There is much that we still don't know or understand, but it is my mission to find out the latest therapies and theories that may help you live your best life.
In 2019, I completed a BSc (Hons) in Humanistic/Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute, here in Nottingham.
I have a real interest in the mind-body connection, working somatically with the body, using parts work and inner child therapy to allow clients to gently connect to themselves in a way they have probably never done before and this can bring about real change and healing.
